WKYMVm is a synthetic peptide isolated from mixtures of random hexapeptide sequences. The peptide stimulates phosphoinositide hydrolysis in several hematopoietic cell lines (U937, HL-60, U266) and human neutrophils. It also induces superoxide generation in human neutrophils (Seo et al, 1997). WKYMVm also attenuates death by apoptosis of monocytes, induced by serum starvation.
