Forte Blue  DHPE与Marina Blue®1,2-二十六烷基-sn-甘油-3-磷酸乙醇胺的分子相同（Marina Blue®DHPE，Marina Blue®是ThermoFisher的商标）。它是一种磷脂，在头部用明亮的蓝色荧光标记。Forte Blue  DHPE用强的365nm汞弧光灯/UV激光谱线对DHPE进行了最佳激发，并在460nm附近表现出明亮的蓝色荧光。值得注意的是，这种新开发的7-羟基香豆素衍生物的低pKa值比7-羟基香豆素类似物低2“3个对数单位。Forte Blue  DHPE在膜中甚至在中性pH下都有强烈的荧光。
